2 The three primary ingredients of Macronutrient fertilizers: Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P2O5) and Potassium (K2O) are known as N-P-K fertilizers and are labeled according to the content of these three elements. (Fertilizer ratio is the ratio of weight percents of N-P-K and is determined by dividing the three numbers by the smallest of the three. For example, 10-20-10 ratio is 1-2-1 which means 100 pounds of a 10-20-10 fertilizer contains 10 pounds of N, 20 pounds of P2O5, and 10 pounds of K2O)
