The Northampton Farm Bureau Cooperative is owned and governed by area farmers. Comprised of approximately four-hundred (400) voting Farmer members from Northampton, Bucks, Monroe and Warren counties, an annual meeting is held to establish budgets and elect a nine (9) member Board of Directors and President.
The organizational structure has not significantly changed since its inception in 1934. The Farmers set the direction and goals of the organization. That elected Board of Directors hold monthly meetings. Daily operational responsibilities fall to a General Manager, Richard Bickert. Rich was hired as an Accountant in 1978 and has served as General Manager since 1987.
County Farmers can join the Cooperative by purchasing voting shares at a ten (10) dollar minimum which entitles them to share in the profits and allows them to bulk purchase products such as fertilizer, pesticides and herbicides at lower cost due to the combined purchasing power of the collective.
